My Healthy Community Featured in Delaware Journal of Public Health
July 20, 2021
Green River was pleased to collaborate with state epidemiologist Tabatha N. Offutt-Powell and her colleagues at the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) on an article published in the July 2021 issue of the Delaware Journal of Public Health (DJPH).
The piece, one of several focusing on the issue’s theme of “technology and public health,” traces the informatics and epidemiology background that led to DHSS’s launch of My Healthy Community, a software platform developed with Green River to help state agencies and the public (including community organizations) understand issues impacting health, determine priorities, and enhance decision-making. The platform delivers neighborhood-granular population, health, environmental, and social determinant data—and serves as Delaware’s COVID-19 reporting site—and the article covers several of the technical solutions Green River employed in the process of building the site concerning data integration, organization, and privacy.
“Delaware’s My Healthy Community Data Platform: At The Intersection of Public Health Informatics and Epidemiology” is available on the DJPH website and as a PDF download.
